Sabi Kerr: Branding + Squarespace Website Design
I’m so excited to get into the behind-the-scenes of working with Sabi because this was a super fun branding and Squarespace website design project!
This was also a special collaboration because I’d known Sabi for almost 2 years before working together. We met in a business coaching group program and stayed in touch via Instagram.
If you don’t know Sabi, she is a self-love coach who is passionate about helping awaken each woman’s divine radiance by stepping into their truest essence, finding their voice and forging their authentic path in life and business.
Her mission is to guide women to fall deeper in love with themselves and release the blocks they have to feeling worthy so that they can create magical lives full of passion and purpose.
Sabi guides women through her private coaching, group coaching, and workshops.
What makes Sabi different from other self-love coaches is her energy and personality - softness and calmness mixed with confidence, sass and authority.
(If you knew Sabi, you’d totally agree!)
Sabi also combines a range of modalities - traditional coaching, spiritual tools, meditation, and dance/movement.
When Sabi signed on, she had a DIY website on Weebly that was an outdated representation of her work and something that she wasn’t confident sharing anymore.
As someone who knows Sabi personally, I could totally see the disconnect on her website since it didn’t make her shine.
As time went on, her attention went to important money-making activities in her business, and her website fell to the side. When she signed on, she was ready for a complete overhaul.
From there, we got to work on her brand and website uplevel!
Step 1: Logo Design + Colors
In the design questionnaire that I give clients when they sign on, Sabi expressed that she wanted her branding and website to exude these emotions and vibes:
powerful / confident / strength
embodied
radiance / goddess / magnetism
feminine / sensual / sexy
freedom / empowerment / sovereign / queen
For the overall aesthetic, Sabi wanted a mix of bohemian and elegance. This felt like a challenge at first, but it came together beautifully as we walked through the branding.
Here’s the mood board, which set the initial foundation for the branding and website…
For the colors, Sabi was really drawn to feminine, earthy and warm tones like pinks, caramels, golds, nudes, creams, and browns. We entertained including black as a main color, which we decided to integrate into the branding.
These were the original options.
We kept most of the colors from palette #3, and incorporated the soft pink and champagne color from #2. Here was the final color palette.
Next, we moved onto the logo design.
This process involves designing 3 main logos and a couple alternatives so that clients have a few options to choose from. I first design these in black and white so the focus is on the design, not the color.
Sabi wanted a mix of script font with a serif or sans serif font. I provided a few different options of how they were all used with her name. She wasn’t sure if she wanted “self-love coach” in the logo, so I added a couple of those options as well.
Sabi loved the one in the center bottom location, so we went with that one!
Once we decide on the main logo, then I add color. Below are the various color options for the main logo. She decided to stick with black.
I also provided alternative logo options (right), which are circular and typically used on social media, ebooks and/or business cards. She loved the top and bottom ones, so I gave her both. I actually find that clients have a hard time choosing just one alternative logo.
Step 2: Branding Style Board
Once the logo, alternative logo, main 2 fonts, and color palette were completed, it was time to build out the rest of the branding style board.
I kept the favicon simple with just an “s” since the browser icon is very small.
Under the fonts section, I added Lato as a contrast to Scarlet and Made Saonara.
The graphic elements reflected more of the bohemian vibes and the textures brought in more of the elegant vibes with the satin and marble. Since Sabi wanted queen-like vibes, we included the crown graphic.
Here was the final brand style board.
Step 3: Marketing Collateral
Business card
Once the branding was complete, I moved onto designing Sabi’s marketing materials. Here are the different business card options I gave her.
Social media graphics
I provided Sabi with graphics for Facebook and Instagram, some for her programs and other templates can be used for a variety of reasons.
These graphics were also resized for other formats so she could use them across social media platforms.
Step 4: Website Design
When Sabi was designing her website, her biggest struggle was not being able to get it looking as polished and professional as she wanted like if I do it myself!
This is the most common pain point my clients experience. It can be hard to bring your vision to life with limited knowledge on design theory and the website platform itself. But that’s of course why clients hire me to bring their vision to life!
Sabi’s main goal was for site visitors to opt-into her freebie. So we highlighted that in the top announcement bar and on the homepage.
Even though I pride myself on my design talent, photos are truly sooo important on a website. And this website is a perfect example of just how powerful images are in trying to convey the emotions and vibe that you truly want.
Without further ado, here’s the super fun part!
Before and after photos!
Below are before and after screenshots of the home, about pages, and private coaching pages.

Step 4: Website launch
At the end of the project, we hopped on the launch call via Zoom, where I typically do the following:
transfer website ownership
connect and transfer the domain to Squarespace
walk through simple tweaks and changes she can make in the future
I handed over all of the design files in a zip folder uploaded to Google Drive, a document with all the Canva links (there were a lotttt), and gave her access to my client library of video tutorials.
Here's what Sabi had to say about working with me...
“Before working with Lauren, I had focussed my energy on the other parts of building my business, like growing a community and focussing on my messaging, and so I made a conscious choice to not focus on web design or branding yet. But I knew that the time had come for me to uplevel the visual part of my brand so that I had something that truly reflected the energy of my work!
Where do I start! Firstly, I'm so in love with my new branding and website and Lauren has done an amazing job! I love how it has the exact energy of feminine power that I hoped it would. I loved how professional Lauren was, how quickly she responded to my questions and how the project was managed and organized on Asana so I always knew what was due when.
It feels amazing to now have a home for all my work. I'm so happy to have a website and branding that visually represents the quality of my work, and that I feel really proud of. I already feel a mindset shift and like I'm stepping into the next level of my business. I know that it's going to translate into clients too, both practically (having a beautiful, professional website to send them to) and energetically (because I now feel even more lit up by my business!)
If you’re considering working with Lauren… don't think about it, just do it! I 100% recommend hiring Lauren, she's not only deeply professional with her work but I also felt like she truly cared about me and my business. If you're looking for a website and branding overhaul that will totally uplevel your business, you need to hire Lauren!”
