Which Squarespace Plan is Best?

I’m a Squarespace and Showit website designer, which means the majority of my time is spent building websites, talking with clients, and helping them make decisions regarding the many options that come with both Squarespace and Showit.

One of my most commonly asked questions is, “Which Squarespace plan is best?”

Of course, there is no single “best” Squarespace plan, as they are all different and provide different capabilities for a different investment, so I often find that what my clients are really asking is, “Which Squarespace plan is right for me?”

When setting out to determine which Squarespace plan is best for you, there are several things to keep in mind, including price, capabilities, and the purpose of your website in general.

Let’s dive into Squarespace plans and pricing!

Personal Plan

The personal plan is priced super reasonably at $12/month, and while it doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles that accompany other plans, it’s great for newbie bloggers just starting out or people who just want to showcase their work through a portfolio website, such as artists and photographers.

Business Plan

The business plan, at $18/month, is a step up from the personal plan in investment and capability, and allows access to a professional email from Google, important analytics on your website, and simple code changes.

You also get access to announcement bars and promotional popups to show off your new services!

You can sell products on this plan, but the storefront is limited. Most of my clients choose this plan for their business because it provides them just what they need at a reasonable cost.

I always recommend this as the lowest plan for any of my clients who are coaches or service providers.

Basic Commerce Plan

The basic commerce plan is perfect for those selling more products and who want more capabilities in their storefront, like selling an unlimited number of products and selling gift cards. It’s priced at $26/month, which is very reasonable for its features.

I recommend this plan to those starting out selling online who plan to grow significantly over the next few months!

Advanced Commerce Plan

Lastly, this commerce plan offers the most features and capabilities such as abandoned cart recovery, and is great for selling memberships and subscription products.

It is the most expensive at $40/ month, but it’s a no-brainer for those looking to sell products their own way in their online store.

When it comes to Squarespace plans and pricing, the important thing to remember is that you can always upgrade or downgrade if something isn’t working for you, and that every plan is different. It’s totally okay to subscribe to one plan and change your mind the next month to introduce new or different capabilities to your store - or even get rid of them if you decide they aren’t worth the investment.

As a Squarespace and Showit website designer, I love helping my clients with all things website building - navigating Squarespace plans and pricing included.
