The Full Process
1. Free Consultation
We’ll hop on a Zoom call to get to know each other and discuss your business.
2. Pay Deposit
Once you decide you'd like to move forward, I'll require you to pay a 50% deposit to solidify your spot in my schedule. Then the remaining 50% will be due at the end of the project.
3. Sign Contract
Before getting started, we'll both sign an electronic contract to fully protect each other.
4. Project Management Setup
I'll introduce you to Asana, the project management tool I use with all my clients. But don't worry -- it's simple and easy to navigate! I'll provide a video tutorial to walk you through how to use it. This is where tasks, due dates, communication, and files will live.
5. Discovery
I’ll send you a questionnaire to gain a better understanding of your business and what you're looking for in your designs. I'll also request that you create a secret Pinterest board that reflects your inspiration.
6. Consult Call
We'll jump on one last call before I get started. This is the perfect time for you to ask for clarification and I'll answer any remaining questions you might have.
7. Branding + Social Media Design
I'll first start with your mood board before presenting three logo concepts with variations in black and white (nine logos total, two revisions). I'll then provide three color palette options, three logo concepts in color, and three alternative logo concepts (one revision each). The other brand elements, such as favicons, fonts, textures and graphic elements, will appear on your style board (one revision). You will then receive the style guide, which provides detailed instructions for using each brand element.
If you purchased my highest end package, I'll then create banner graphics and 15 graphic templates sized perfectly for 3 social media platforms of your choosing (2 rounds of revisions).
8. Website Design
I'll start with the design of the home page to get your approval of the initial look and feel (one revision). From there, I'll design your whole site to get it looking just the way you want (three revisions).
9. Final Payment
Before handing over the design files and website, the remaining payment is due. You'll receive the files in a zip folder via Asana.
10. Site Walkthrough
Once complete, I’ll jump on a 60 minute Zoom call to walk you through the backend of your site and provide a Squarespace training session. You’ll receive a video recording of this as well.

Frequently Ask Questions
Can I pay you hourly to touchup my existing website?
Due to the nature of this work, I don’t do touchups. However, once a project has finished with a client, I allow ongoing revisions or changes at my rate of $90/hour.
How do I know you’ll create something I like?
Between the in-depth design questionnaire, Pinterest board, and inspiration websites, there are many touchpoints where we work together to clarify the aesthetic and style you’re looking for. I also design the homepage first before building out the rest of the site, so we have the opportunity to course correct if needed.
Do you only build Squarespace websites?
Although I have previously only offered Squarespace design, I am looking to expand my offerings to include Showit. If you’re interested in a Showit website, please send me an email lauren@taylardigital.com.
As for Squarespace, I love it because it not only provides beautiful customizable templates, but also ease of use. After the website goes live, I’ll walk you through how to make changes to your site. That way, you'll have no problem making changes yourself. No coding knowledge necessary!
What final design files will I receive?
Upon completing your final payment, I will send all your design files in JPG (white background), PNG (transparent background), and Adobe Illustrator files.
Unless otherwise discussed, your social media banners and graphics will be created in Canva and shared with you via email. Canva is a free graphic design tool that is easy to use for non-designers. I create these items in Canva so that you can duplicate the designs and make edits yourself.
*Please note that if you want to use a custom font from your branding within Canva, you will have to upgrade to Canva For Work ($12.95/month). If this is something you don’t want to pay for, I can create your social media graphics without it.
How will we communicate throughout the project?
I’ll set you up in Asana, a project management tool, to keep our email inboxes uncluttered and the process organized. Haven't used Asana before? No worries, I'll send you a video walking you through the dashboard!
Do I need to buy a domain or hosting before working with you?
Nope, you can buy your domain directly through Squarespace. However, you are responsible for the domain purchasing fee and hosting in Squarespace.
Do I need professional photos before working with you?
Although it’s not required, it is recommended. If you can’t afford a photographer, I would suggest at least two high quality photos of yourself to use on the website. I can also direct you to a few resources where you can find free and paid high-quality stock photos.
Who prepares the copy for the website?
It is up to you to provide the copy (otherwise known as the content) for the website. You can hire a copywriter to write your content if you’d like. Otherwise, I will provide content planners to guide you along the process.
What do I need to give you before you start designing?
After you’ve signed the contract and paid your deposit, you’ll need to…
Fill in the client questionnaire
Complete the Pinterest inspiration board
Provide the social media copy (if applicable)
Provide the website copy and photos (you’ll be shared on a Google Drive folder)
Do you offer ongoing website maintenance?
Yes, I do. The rate is $70/hour.
What are your office hours?
I typically work between 9am and 5pm EST. You can expect a reply from me within 1-3 hours during active projects. Response times exclude nights, weekends and holidays.
Do you offer any other services?
Yes, I offer Facebook ad design, Keynote design, and ebook design.
If you're interested in one of these additional services, let me know and I'll send you a quote!
Are You Ready To Move Forward?
What Happens Next?
After the consultation and you decide you’d like to move forward, I will send you the contract. After you sign, you’ll receive an invoice to pay the deposit. As mentioned above, a 50% deposit is required to solidify your spot in my schedule. From there, you can expect an email regarding next steps :)
