How Much Do Squarespace Website Designers Charge?
Looking for information on how much a Squarespace website costs to have it professionally designed? I’m excited to provide this resource, so keep on reading…
If you are an online business owner or owner of a small business, there will likely come a time in your entrepreneurship journey when you realize that it’s time to take your business to the next level – but you have NO IDEA how.
After operating for a while on a DIY website (or via social media such as Facebook,) the idea of designing and creating a website from scratch can seem like a daunting to-do that is easy to put off until next year…then the next…until five years have gone by and you’re still working without a professional website.
This is what leads many entrepreneurs to turn to a website designer to help them craft a website that perfectly encompasses their mission.
And, Squarespace is a popular platform choice because of the many benefits it offers business owners.
I have been working with Squarespace for more than 3 years now, and have found it to be one of the best website builders because it’s fairly user friendly, has strong SEO, and allows you to purchase (and manage) your hosting, domain, and email all in one place.
However, before jumping in and hiring a Squarespace website designer, one of the BIGGEST questions most business owners have is just how much of an investment it will be.
As a Squarespace website designer for coaches and creatives, I’m excited to be covering the four different price ranges of a typical designer so you can start your search for the perfect one with a pricing goal in mind.
Without further ado, let’s dive into common Squarespace web design packages…
$1K-$2K: Beginner Designer
This is a popular price for a Squarespace website designer who has just started out in their journey and is looking to gain experience before raising their prices.
These designers can be GREAT to work with because they are budget-friendly and eager to expand their portfolio, but you are sacrificing experience if you choose to work with them.
This is important to note when deciding your budget and the goals of your website. If you’re looking to work with a seasoned professional, you can expect to spend more, but if you’re simply looking to uplevel your business with a beginner, this could be the perfect designer for you!
It is important to note, however, that booking a design package costing any less than this is usually a very bad idea. That’s why I started the range at $1000, not $300.
The designs you get for a couple hundred dollars (or even lower) tend to be low-quality products that will end up being a waste of money in the long run when you have to pay someone else to do it over again.
Additionally, many people who are not familiar with website design don’t comprehend how much work actually goes into making a website. A typical website can take me between 20 and 35 hours including revisions, so it’s important to keep that in mind when deciding on who to hire.
$2K-$3.5K: Intermediate Designer
This is the most common Squarespace designer pricing tier.
For many business owners, this price range is typical of their ideal Squarespace website designer.
Intermediate designers have plenty of experience to boast, but still charge in a range comfortable enough for most businesses, as they are still expanding their portfolios and gaining experience.
The average price for this type of designer tends to be around $2,500, which usually provides you with five to eight pages of content.
This designer is perfect for anyone ready to seriously invest in their business without breaking the bank, and usually gives you great results that won’t need touching up later!
$3.5K-$5K: Experienced Designer
Experienced designers tend to charge within this range for their services, and when you book with them, you are paying not only for a high-quality, professional website, but for confidence that they have worked with (and done a great job for) many other businesses before yours.
I recommend an experienced designer to anyone looking to receive stellar results (and willing to pay for them!)
When you work with an experienced designer, you can expect their process to be organized and simplified to prevent inefficient back-and-forth emailing and confusion.
They are usually able to lay out everything they will need from you before the process begins so you can ensure it’s a good fit!
BEFORE booking with a designer of this caliber, you should ensure that they really do have the experience and skills you are looking for.
You can usually verify this through their portfolio or chatting with them one-on-one – anything you can do to make sure that they can deliver exactly what you’re looking for should be a priority.
You should also make sure that someone in this price range knows how to do SEO (search engine optimization) correctly so that your website is optimized and loads fast (which is extremely important for the user experience).
$5K-$8K: Sought-After Squarespace Experts
Personally, I only know of three designers that charge over $5,000 for their design packages. This Squarespace website designer is often in VERY high-demand, produces great packages, and expects to be paid accordingly.
I recommend seeking out these designers if and only if you:
Are a 6 or multi 6 figure business owners who is ready to invest this amount in a website designer
Know that your current website doesn’t reflect the quality of your work or the investment you charge and having a fully professional website would give you a return
Know what you are looking for and WHY it is important to you to work with a designer who is an expert in their field.
If you can’t say yes to all three of these things, I do NOT recommend making a huge investment in a website designer right off the bat when starting your business.
Oftentimes, it’s best to start out with someone charging less, and, if you feel you aren’t seeing the results you want (or could see considerably better results working with someone more experienced,) THEN you can make the decision to take the leap and make a larger investment.
There you have it! If you’ve been wondering how much is a Squarespace website going to cost, I hope this post gave you all the info and insights you needed about pricing!
Though price isn’t the MOST important thing to consider when hiring a Squarespace website designer, it is crucial to consider. Keeping in mind your budget, how much more or less you are willing to pay if asked, and how experienced of a designer you are looking for will help you search for a designer efficiently without wasting your time (or theirs.)
