4 Signs That it’s Time for a Rebrand or Website Redesign
As a solopreneur, chances are high that your business will have a rebrand at least once. Because there are so many avenues for solopreneurs to take in the online business world, it’s just natural for your business to expand or move in another direction as it grows.
In this post, I’m breaking down the 4 signs that it’s time for a rebrand or website redesign.
1. Your business is changing industries
Maybe you’re going from event planning to business coaching or health coaching to legal advice. What attracted one group of clients for a particular service before is most likely not going to attract clients of a new service in another industry.
Your messaging will completely change, therefore your brand visuals should be tailored to this new audience as well.
2. You’ve niched on an audience or are changing audiences within the same industry
Maybe you’re a fitness trainer and right now, you’re working with men and women who are in corporate America. They come to you because they need help finding time outside of work to get fit.
But now you want to change your audience to new moms because you recently became one and see so many other women in your position struggling to put themselves first.
How you speak to and show up to attract those new moms is going to be completely different than how you were showing up for the men and women in corporate America.
Therefore, your visuals, tone and aesthetic will most likely need an adjustment to be more attractive to those new moms.
3. You realize that you no longer connect with your visuals
Maybe your branding is simply outdated. Although it connected with you when you first started your business, it no longer represents you now.
This was the case with my business recently. I started my business 18 months ago and I was my first client. I realized that I was no longer aligned to the colors or aesthetic I created for myself.
I had stopped using a couple of the colors in my palette. With the 3 colors I mainly used, I realized that they no longer felt like me or my business.
Over time, my business has grown and I have a greater understanding of the women I’m serving, so it was time for a more sophisticated and aligned brand.

4. You’ve never had a visual brand identity to begin with
Maybe you’ve been scraping by in your business with the bare bones - using a simple text logo on your website, using similar fonts on your social media and using 1-2 core colors throughout your online platforms.
In some ways, you’ve never had a fully defined and cohesive visual brand. You may decide to take on a rebrand because you’ve been in business for 1-3 years and know that it’s time for a more professional and aligned visual brand identity and website.
So there you have it! Those are the 4 reasons that it might be time to rebrand the visual identity for your solopreneur business.
