Five Minutes to Famous Review
If you’re not familiar with Susie Moore, she’s a life coach, writer, speaker, and bestselling author. I purchased her course, Five Minutes to Famous, earlier this year and thought I’d write a review about it.
The premise of her course is helping people get featured in big media outlets through guest blogging. The Five Minutes to Famous tagline is “get noticed, skyrocket your reputation, and attract new clients by becoming your own publicist.”
And I can tell that the course definitely delivered. Keep reading for my full review!
Why I Joined Five Minutes to Famous
I joined Five Minutes to Famous because I wanted to get featured in press and online publications. It’s really as simple as that!
Honestly, the course was something I had been considering for about a year and it was just a matter of time before I was going to take the leap.
The price tag was my only hesitation because I’ve invested tens of thousands of dollars into my business over the past 3 years. And I wanted to make sure that I had the time and energy to put towards these specific guest posting efforts.
The course wasn’t intriguing just because I wanted the shiny logos on my website. In reality I wanted to:
Look more legit
Be seen as an authority in the design and SEO space
Grow my email list with aligned subscribers
And I had seen the success that Susie had had as well as past students. It gave me the belief that I could achieve something similar. As I was upleveling my own business and getting booked out, it made sense that one of my next moves would be investing in PR.
Funny enough, my college degree was public relations. And after college, I ended up diving into something that was a slightly different path - the SEO industry.
Even though I remembered quite a bit of my PR education and had even shadowed a local news journalist for a summer, it didn’t feel like enough. I knew that if I wanted to get press features, I needed to do it right the first time around and skip the guessing games.
With the growth I wanted to achieve in my business, I was ready to harness the power of PR and SEO to put my services in front of people looking for them.

Private Facebook Community
I love when courses come with a Facebook community. This is where you can ask questions, share your wins and connect with others in the group.
Hey, I even landed a premium paying dream client from the Facebook group!
Expert Interview Series
I loved this bonus for the course because you really get to hear from the people that are on the receiving end of your pitches. Not only are they in various industries, but listening to what they like/don’t like in their pitches reaffirms Susie’s teachings and increases confidence that you’re on the right track.
This expert interview series includes these editors:
Lynya Floyd at Family Circle magazine
Adam Auriemma at Money Magazine
Andrea Huspeni at Entrepreneur
Jess Novak at Greatist
Emily Laurence at Well+Good
Was the course material helpful?
Susie really breaks the content down so it’s super easy to follow and understand.
Honestly, the scripts alone are worth gold. You can just copy/paste them and make it unique for you and your pitch.
The course comes with 4 scripts for your:
writer bio
professional editor pitch
follow-ups
shirttail CTA
Where I’ve Been Featured
In a matter of a couple weeks of pitching myself, I got a couple press mentions.
Susie mentioned in the course that starting off with a Medium account and self publishing a couple articles could go a long way. That’s where I started so that I could provide publications with a link to an article that would be similar to what I could write for them, in addition to a couple blog posts on my website.
Business 2 Community
I got accepted as a contributor and had my first article published! This was so exciting. I’m looking forward to submitting more articles in the future.

Niche podcast interview
This is TBD, but I used the script to pitch a female business podcast with listeners that align with my audience. It was my first time outwarding pitching a podcast, and I got accepted!
The two women who run the podcast have more than 50K Instagram followers combined, so this was a very big win. I’m excited to share it when it comes out.
Advice to someone considering the course
If you’re a coach, service provider, author, speaker, etc - basically anyone with a value and stories to share - then take the leap and join! It was totally worth the money.
And don’t just consume all the info. I binged the course over a day or two and then waited 2 months to take action.
I realized I had a fear of rejection that kept creeping in whenever I thought about pitching myself, and it caused me to push my “pitch to press” to-do task back every single week.
“I’ll get to it next week” turned into 8 weeks later. So mark it on your to-do list and get it done.
The most important thing you should know about Five Minutes to Famous is that it does require some initial work and research to brainstorm pitch ideas and to create a list of what publications you want to reach out to first.
As mentioned above, it’s easier to automatically get overwhelmed. But if you set aside 1-2 hours a week to dedicate to pitching media, it can go a long way.
Bonuses
Also, I HIGHLY recommend that you purchase the Power Contacts Pocket List in addition to the course. I believe Susie includes this as an upsell on the sales page, but I passed on it initially.
When I purchased it a few months after I bought the course, I really wished I had this from the beginning. Basically, this list features over a thousand publications from various industries, their SEO metrics, and links to their website and submit pages. It’s truly an amazing resource, and I was blown away when I got it. Totally worth the extra money!
There you have it! That’s my review of Susie Moore’s Five Minutes to Famous PR course.
