The Question of Uncertainty

The Question of Uncertainty

Uncertainty is always around us. For me, the biggest challenges I’ve ever had to face were where to go to college and what to major in. It took me a second time around to figure out, but I did. Now I’m set to graduate in December, and the question I keep getting is, “So what do you want to do when you graduate?” It’s the toughest question of all…and I always answer, “I’m not quite sure. But I’m trying to figure that out as I go along.”

I sometimes feel behind when I hear other people say they know exactly what industry and what company they’re going after. However, I know I’m not alone with my uncertainty. I’m doing the best that I can do – exploring my interests through internships and PRSSA, in addition to reading industry news.

What I’m focusing on now is what my passion is and how that will relate to a job. My troubling thought, however, is what exactly is it that I’m passionate about? What will I wake up doing everyday that will make me happy, that will not feel like a job, and that will serve my purpose in life?
